I am lonely, forgive me,
I am lonely

I am lonely, forgive me, I am lonely is a solo performance of fading memories and unfocused images, welling up from a transfeminine person’s embarrassed desire to be seen and to be admired. False memories of cabaret ballads in smoky lounges, drag performances in filthy clubs, and cheap phone sex hotlines, bubble up unconsciously in confused indulgence. The never-ending act of gender transition, at once magical and disturbing, is accidentally exposed by an unannounced body-horror featurette of her own under-rehearsed femininity.

The work is boldly centered around my experiences of being a transfeminine. It is a realization of the paradoxical nature of trans existence. It is in itself my aching need to be put on display as a sex object to be objectified and coveted, alongside my desperate tantrums against such means of validation.
