Now Lettest Thou Depart
Now Lettest Thou Depart is a piece I developed over the course of a nine month residency at Theater Mitu for their Hybrid Arts Lab program. It was choreographed by me, scored by me, and I alone programmed all of the technology needed to create the visuals that were projected on the set.
For the performance, audience members were all put on headphones to hear the score which was a mixture of premade music and live audio from several hidden microphones in the space. They are immersed in a world of color, movement, and sound.
The piece is a collage of all my current obsessions. Divinity and iconography by way of algorithmic geometry shine through in the visuals. Classicism, the hypnotic, and dreams are on display in the score. The dance is a show of letting go, love, and anguish.
